Monroe project a positive

I do not understand all of the opposition to the North Monroe Corridor project. As it currently stands, North Monroe is a speeding thoroughfare that is not conducive to stop and shop. Making it easier to park, safer to get out of your car and safer to walk to a shop can only be good for business. Other than the inconvenience of the construction period, I see this as a positive for the businesses along the North Monroe corridor, especially those who don’t have off street parking.
