Acceptance letters to Idaho colleges in mail this week to 20,213 Idaho high school seniors

More than 20,000 Idaho high school seniors have been pre-admitted to the state’s public colleges and universities and will be receiving acceptance letters this week, the state Board of Education reports. Under the board’s “Direct Admissions” initiative, now entering its third year, students whose grades and test scores qualify them for admission are being admitted to BSU, ISU, the U of I, LCSC, the College of Eastern Idaho, the College of Southern Idaho, the College of Western Idaho and North Idaho College – without first having to apply.

Once they receive the acceptance letter, students are directed to a website to learn more about each college, including information on scholarships and financial aid; from there, they can submit an application to the school or schools of their choice for free, with admission already guaranteed.

“The Direct Admissions initiative has been successful in proactively showing Idaho students that higher education is an option for all of them after graduating from high school, and that we have a variety of great options for each student,” said Linda Clark, state board president. “We want Idaho students to go on to college, and we want them to enroll in our institutions.”
