Remove politics from issue

East Central Community Center and Martin Luther King Jr. Family Outreach provide essential services to the community. Both are established organizations holding the trust and faith in those that they serve. After reading the Sept. 21 article, it seems the people who will be the real losers from their conflict, are those that they serve.

Is there not some way Ms. Jalinek and Ms. Gandy could bypass all the political mess and collaborate missions to even better serve the community and find a resolution to the problem so that the children through seniors that rely on them, can continue to find answers to their problems throughout those organizations? The longer the City Council and the attorneys are involved, the further and further everyone will be from finding a solution.

These organizations should not lose sight of their value to the people they serve in trying to find satisfaction in who is right and wrong on this issue. Both organizations have been dealt a raw deal by those who are elected to put politics aside and do what’s right for Spokanites in need- but those people don’t interact with folks seen by ECCC and MLKFO every day that need help.

The people served must be the priority.
