Give students a chance

Having been a teacher for 41 years, I am disappointed in the administrator’s (superintendents and their minions, principals, vice-principals, deans et. al.) attitude towards the students walk-out to support the Parkland shooting victims and to promote safety for schools.

These are your “kids” and they want safety for themselves, you and future students. Not only should you allow it with no consequences, but you should join them as you are all in this together.

I personally am pleased that young people care about something as one of the biggest problems I face ad a teacher was apathy. Give these future leaders of America a chance to make a difference for themselves and others.
