Ferry County Rail Trail

On March 26, Bobbi Weller and I were replaced on the Rail Corridor Committee after the RCC gave recommendations to the commissioners to continue with the same committee members.

In my opinion, the RCC has become a nonfunctioning, token group for the Ferry County commissioners. In the past months there has not been much advising, communicating or working together with the county commissioners and not because of the RCC members. Most of them have put in extra effort to work with the commissioners. I feel the RCC is not part of their agenda, which in my opinion means completing the non-motorized rail trail is not important to them. In my opinion, the commissioners have made the non-motorized rail trail a heated issue, and it was not that way in the past and certainly does not have to be now. I am personally tired of the deception and lies.

When I came on board almost five years ago I was directed to work on getting the non-motorized rail trail finished. I am passionate about the trail and its completion. And when the commissioners chose to change the scope of the Ferry County Rail Trail Development Plan to revise it and make it the county plan, Commissioner Johnna Exner assured us the trail would be completed. What an awesome tourist attraction it is becoming, but it needs to be completed from Republic to Danville.
