More truths to tariffs
I read your Kip Hill written article (“Tariff war’s casualty list grows,” April 5), which began: “China’s announcement Wednesday that wheat would be among the more than 100 products potentially subjected to tariffs in response to actions by the Trump administration prompted concern from the region’s farmers.”
In a request for more fair reporting I wish you would have pointed out that China already has a tariff on Washington wheat. They also have excessive docking, broker fees and other restrictions on wheat imports
They also have tariffs on our apples, cherries, potatoes, pears, plums and wine. I feel your story was intentionally incomplete to create anger and alarm toward the Trump administration’s negotiations to protect American interests in fair trade.
