“Uncle John” will be missed

Whenever I went with my husband for lunch to the Davenport Hotel, Mr. John Reed always shook my husband’s hand and gave me a hug, inquiring how we were doing and wishing us a nice lunch. We were friends, and he was a part of our family.

When we were leaving, he always asked if we enjoyed our lunch and graciously wished us a good day.

When he learned about my husband’s passing, he gave me a stronger hug with, “I know what you are going through.” And he did.

I will miss John’s genuine and friendly attitude, his gentle, warm and kind heart.

Dear John, my you rest in peace. Your life had a meaning. Your smiling presence will stay forever.
