Understand the candidates

Voters need to be aware of the differences between the two candidates running for the 5th District congressional position.

Cathy McMorris Rodgers supports reducing the trade deficits with China and other countries yet not placing the entire remedy burden on agriculture; she supports keeping the dams along the Snake and Columbia rivers which provide cheap electricity, local commerce and flood protection; and she supports the new tax law which reduces our local federal taxes.

Lisa Brown supported a state income tax and is opposed to the new tax law, which lowers our personal federal tax bill. She will support removal of the local Snake and Columbia river dams, which have had a good deal to do with the many economic benefits present in the 5th District. If you aren’t paying enough in federal, state and local taxes and you haven’t yet had your fill of political correctness and liberal ideas, then Lisa Brown is the candidate you will want to support.
