CMR protected hydro energy

News outlets have recently reported the California Independent System operator has issued a “Flex Alert” due to high temperatures across the Western United States, thus there may be rolling brownouts where electricity is limited to some neighborhoods.

With temperatures in the 100’s in many portions of Eastern Washington, I am really appreciating my ability to turn on my air conditioner with an abundance of hydro-generated electricity available here in the Pacific Northwest.

It reminds me I need to thank Cathy McMorris Rodgers for her leadership in protecting the electricity producing dams on the Snake and Columbia Rivers.
