Recognizing firefighters

On this 90-plus-degree day, as I left my air-conditioned home, in my air-conditioned vehicle, to enter the comfortably air-conditioned Albertson’s grocery store, I witnessed a sight which made me both thankful and proud.

In the parking lot were three or more personal trucks surrounded by approximately fifteen firefighters. These young women and men, all in their 20’s and early 30’s, were loading the vehicles with bottled water for what I concluded was a deployment to fight fires around our beautiful state.

At a time when so many have so much to say about things they find so personally important, let us remember our firefighters who are doing something very important in our backyard.
