Thank you, Spokanites
On June 14 we arrived in Spokane to stay at the Historic Davenport Hotel before boarding an American Queen Steamboat trip to the Columbia and Snake Rivers.
We were having a glorious time when my 86-year-old husband went out unaccompanied to a drug store nearby. When I could not locate him, the hotel staff did an honorable job to calm me, help search the area and call the police.
He had fallen, cut his forehead, ruined his glasses and broken his nose. Thank you to whoever came to his aid. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital and healed.
The hotel staff took care of everything and picked him up at the hospital. All the time I was cared for with concern and kindness. We continued our trip and had health service on the way.
In what could have been a horrible crisis, we thank everyone involved who helped this stranger.
We loved your city and the friendly people who helped us and answered our questions.
We were very impressed with the cleanliness, the community spirit and the way you treat your fellow member of humanity.
Please know how much your help and compassionate spirit meant to us. We hope to visit again.
