Unauthorized immigration down

President Trump’s plan to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexican border seems ill-advised. There is in fact, no “crisis” along the border and building such a wall will be enormously expensive and certainly ineffective.

Undocumented entries across the border are apparently at all-time lows. Apparently, the data from the Pew Hispanic Center, the Department of Homeland Security and others suggest that the undocumented Mexican population in the U.S. stopped growing in 2008 and has been zero or declining ever since.

Indeed, it seems apparent that the population of unauthorized Mexican residents in the U.S. has been declining.
