Con-con hearing to continue tomorrow a.m., same time as health care hearing, science standards vote, prison budget…
After nearly three hours of testimony both for and against – mostly against – the House State Affairs Committee wrapped up its hearing on HCR 32, which calls for an Article V convention of the states to amend the U.S. Constitution, for today; it’ll continue tomorrow at 8 a.m. in the committee’s regular meeting room, room EW 40 of the Capitol.
Also tomorrow at the same time, the House Health & Welfare Committee will hold a hearing, starting at 8 a.m. in the Lincoln Auditorium on HB 464, the Idaho Health Care Plan. That’s the Otter Administration’s proposal to seek two waivers from the federal government to allow about 35,000 Idahoans who now fall into a health coverage gap to qualify for subsidized private insurance through the state insurance exchange, and to shift 2,500 to 3,500 very ill people with specific complex conditions onto Medicaid, to lower rates on the exchange for everyone else.
And at 8:30 in room EW 41, the House Education Committee is scheduled to vote on school science standards.
And the budget for Idaho’s state prisons – which are bursting at the seams, prompting a move to return to shipping excess inmates out of state – is up for a hearing in the Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee, starting at 8 a.m.
