Trump, the memo, facism
Devin Nunes writes a memo when he claims he didn’t read the underlying report. Democrats write a letter to point out the flaws in Nunes’ memo. Republicans vote to release one letter and not the other. Trump then uses the propaganda to accuse Mueller of supposedly cheating.
Now, let’s stop and think. We now know that before the election the FBI was investigating both Clinton and Trump. We know that the only investigation announced by the FBI was the one into Clinton, and a major non-announcement about it was made only a few days before the election. Now, however, Trump claims the FBI was picking on him? He also claims that his own Republican appointees are part of the Democratic “deep state.”
Hitler was elected the first time. He then used lies and violence to destroy Germany’s democracy. When Trump says that the rule of law shouldn’t matter, when he lies constantly, when he says there are good Nazis, we know he’s trying to repeat the pattern. There is no other conclusion that logical, honest, people can see. The Republican Party does not like democracy and the only rule they like is “whatever we like is right while whatever we dislike is wrong.”
