Military parade about ego

This letter is a response to Robin Waller’s guest column of February 10th regarding honoring the military. I don’t think many people would disagree that our military personnel deserve huge accolades for their service. That was an excellent guest column as far as supporting the military.

The difficulty I have, however, is the apparent reason Trump wants a parade “bigger than France had.” His parade request is not about the military but is about Trump’s ego, in my opinion.

I truly believe Trump only cares about himself and how he looks with big crowds, big parades, a bigger nuclear button, etc. His ego and desire to appear as the biggest leader in the world take precedence over anyone else. Kind of ironic considering other countries think he’s an idiot.

If Trump wants a military parade, invite him to ours in Spokane. He’ll probably need directions to get here.
