Tonight’s “Idaho Reports” on Idaho Public Television includes an interview with Sens. Brent Hill and Janie Ward-Engelking on federal tax conformity; a report on the death by suicide of former state Rep. Brandon Hixon, and discussion of mental health and suicide prevention with Kim Kane, manager of the state suicide prevention program; Penelope Hansen, mental health coordinator for the Boise Police; and Mary Pierce, suicide prevention coordinator for the Boise V.A.; a conversation with Scott Bedke and Clive Strong on water recharge and Box Canyon; and longtime Idaho political observer Jim Weatherby’s historical perspective on this week’s “State of the State” address from Gov. Butch Otter.

On the pundits panel, I join host Melissa Davlin, Bryan Clark of the Idaho Falls Post Register and Cynthia Sewell of the Idaho Statesman to discuss lawmakers’ anti-sexual harassment training, Otter’s proposal for no increase in discretionary funding for school districts, and more. (Incidentally, I misspoke in the final moments of the show, discussing road funding, when I said the governor has never supported “general fund for schools” - I meant “general fund for roads,” of course It’s been a long week.)
