To those who stuck it out

On the evening of Thursday, June 21, Spokane’s biggest block party, Summer Parkways, took place. This is an outdoor event for everyone and particularly fun for kids and families.

At the exact moment the event started, so did a torrential downpour. The moment the downpour let up, the streets were filled with people … people walking, people riding their bikes, all ages, with smiles all around.

This letter is a tribute to the hardy souls who stuck with the event, and a thank you for making a big success out of an amazingly wet night. And the same huge thanks to the volunteers keeping the streets safe for the participants.
