Still need a wall

Concerning Rick Johnson’s letter, “Once a shining light” (July 1, 2018), and the mistreatment of illegal children and adults into this country, we should be more concerned about what Jesus would think about all of the millions of babies that have been murdered in this country since the enactment of Roe v. Wade. The Bible says in Psalm 139:13-16 that God knew us before we were conceived, while many doctors and Planned Parenthood try to make you think they are just a blob of tissue. We have seen the embryos in the early stages of life as they mature into beautiful, little, live babies inside the womb.

Meanwhile illegal children and adults trying to cross into this country have cost our government billions of dollars to take care and feed while 40,000 veterans remain homeless. Actually finalizing a border wall to keep illegals out is not new because both Presidents Clinton and Obama mentioned the need of such a wall but did nothing about it. Many countries in the world, as well as the Vatican, have border walls to keep out illegals, so that is nothing new.

We applaud Congresswoman Cathy McMorris-Rodgers for standing with our president about the need for such a wall.
