Just misspoken

At this juncture, I would rather that the president owns his ghastly slander of our intelligence agencies than to take the rest of us for complete fools and make himself look like even more of a sick joke in standing by his late, and dubious, claim of having misspoken under the worst possible circumstances.

If I am wrong, though, please correct me!
