Amazing Amazon

The clouds parted, dogs and cats played in the streets. The holy grail has arrived. Amazing Amazon. All the “expert say” … what wonderful things it will bring. Right. More people. More congestion.

But as a resident of the West Plains, I see one small issue. A measly million dollars for infrastructure. This won’t fix the interchange let alone the extra lane that will be needed on I-90. It won’t touch the thousands of extra cars on rural roads. Such as my gravel road near the location. The degradation of the quality of life that center will cause to existing county residents.

Do you remember when you could actually travel on the freeway and not stop in the morning or evening? Did bureaucrats plan for traffic, noise, light pollution? We have another Spokane Valley. Gridlock and out-of-control growth on the West Plains. Elected officials see new business as new tax revenue. Zero consideration for existing residents.

Before we pat ourselves on the back - we landed a big one - remember, you didn’t move to Spokane or Medical Lake or Cheney to get Amazon in two days. It was about quality of life and you just lost.
