Our meddling past

It appears the question of the day is, “Why did Trump not confront Putin on the issue of election meddling?”

According to David Sangar, author of “The perfect weapon,” since the end of World War II until the year 2000, 81 times in 61 countries the United States has meddled in the elections of those countries. In the mid-‘50s the United States, assisted by the Brits, staged a coup in Iran. With Putin being a former KGB colonel, why would Trump ever want to open up that can of worms?

The proper question should be from us citizens to our elected officials: “Was our meddling in other nations’ governments a preemptive act in response to a perceived threat, or an action to promote the interest of corporate America?”
