Cathy the Friendly Ghost

In the upcoming 2018 election, the odds favor Cathy McMorris Rodgers beating Lisa Brown. Cathy has more money.

But a number of people who voted for Cathy are frustrated with her. I am one of them.

Here’s my rub.

After her re-elections, Cathy fades like a ghost and the band plays on. Per the Congressional Budget Office, Medicare will be in the red in 2024, Social Security will pay only 71 percent of benefits by 2029 and our national debt at over $21 trillion exceeds our GDP. Worse yet, Social Security owns $2.8 trillion of our debt. What a mess!

Listen up, Cathy the Friendly Ghost. Please, start working on cleaning up the debt mess now. Nothing else matters if we don’t fix our debt now. You are the highest-ranking Republican congresswoman, yet you’ve enacted just three minor legislations. Please, be proactive, go out on the limb, stand up and be counted, instead of just being content as Cathy the Friendly Ghost waiting for the debt crisis to happen.
