Tax deduction half-truths

Here are nine tax deductions going away that Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers failed to mention in her article on April 17.

- Home equity loans interest.

- Personal exemption (average estimate $4,050).

- Moving expenses.

- Causality and theft losses except in disaster areas declared by the president.

- Job expenses (sorry teachers).

- Subsidies for parking and transit reimbursement.

- Tax preparation expense.

- Other miscellaneous expenses such as investment fees and credit card fees.

- Donations to colleges in exchange for tickets and seating.

And of course the windfall for the rich and corporations that will saddle the nation with enormous debt. Half-truths won’t cut it anymore, Cathy.

Vote for Lisa Brown this fall.
