A Post Street driveway
To my fellow drivers of Spokane.
My unfortunate cross to bear is that my driveway is situated on Post Street, you know, that detour from Monroe.
I’m writing this letter because between the hours of 7 and 9 a.m., I can’t leave my house. When I do try to leave my driveway, people encourage me by telling me that I am number one in their books. Now if only one person gave me the old one-finger salute, I would think that he was only being sarcastic, but it seems that I have a fan club of about 50 so far.
Trust me when I say, “I think you guys are number one, too.” And the language! It’s so loud and original, although much of it is physically impossible, but I do appreciate the sentiments.
Getting back into my driveway is also fun and exciting. I have to check my blinkers on a daily basis, and yes they have worked for months, but that doesn’t stop you wannabe-Dale-Earnhardts who try to take the inside lane like you are at Talladega.
This has been a real eye-opening experience for me and I hope that someday I can return the favor. Wake me up when October is over.
