An educator’s struggle

A major issue in the news recently has been a strike movement led by and for teachers. These strikes that are occurring all over the country, as well as other countries, are fueled by educators wanting more than what they are being given now. There have been several issues with the education system, including lack of funding, better pay and resources.

People who make the big decisions regarding the education system sometimes don’t understand what public schools are like or the way teachers struggle in the classroom. There should be put in place a way for citizens to vote on all education-related decisions. This would allow parents, teachers and community members to make decisions based on what they see occurring and have personally gone through.

It would also allow changes to occur faster, which would benefit the schools and the students.
