Another life gone

Again on the front section was another story about a young baby girl in Spokane whose life was cut drastically short due to the abuse at the hands of one of her parents (“Mother, 27, is charged in death of infant,” June 14, 2018). Again, another young girl has decided to have unprotected sex and the end result is a baby who didn’t ask to be born.

When are these young people going to grow up and not have babies that they cannot raise properly? It is bad enough to injure and abuse a baby, but then to lie about how it happened to the authorities makes the whole situation so much worse.

Yes, I know there are cases of postpartum depression and bi-polar illness, but I am sure this young girl didn’t develop them overnight. This incident will remain with the mother for the rest of her mortal life. In a case such as this, it is my opinion that the perpetrator should never have the opportunity to become pregnant or a mother ever again. I am sure there will be people who say the opposite, but if this isn’t nipped in the bud now, things like this will continues for years and years.
