CCC still relevant

The Civilian Conservation Corps of the Great Depression was President Roosevelt’s — a Democrat — idea. It was considered to be a great government program to create paying jobs for the unemployed and it worked well. It taught work ethic and self-reliance and pay was sent to their families.

My question is, why not now? Today’s society spends a lot of money on the homeless, those on welfare, and they don’t produce anything. Maybe it’s about time we change our tune and help those to move toward being taxpayers again and more productive citizens. What do you think?
