Bring in fiscal conservatives

Five years ago, 85 percent of Americans supported a Balanced Budget Amendment. So how did our nation’s leaders respond to the people’s overwhelming desire for financial discipline?

They passed a budget-busting spending bill that the Congressional Budget Office projects will push the FY2019 budget deficit to nearly $1.2 trillion! Yes, you read that figure correctly, nearly $1.2 trillion! That’s Obama territory, folks.

In fact, CBO estimates the federal deficit will rise to nearly $1.5 trillion when the government implements the recent tax cuts.

I don’t know about you, but I feel disrespected, deceived and scared, frightened for my children who must bear the cost of our country’s leaders’ shortsightedness.

But what hurts the most is how our representatives and senators treat us like gullible patsies. And it’s particularly painful because they’re right. Unless we hold them accountable for their deception.

Let’s rid the U.S. Capitol of every self-centered, patronizing scumbag who voted for the budget-busting legislation. Republican or Democrat, it doesn’t matter, toss them out and bring in fiscal conservatives who will honor our need for a balanced federal budget.

Only then shall We, the People, be respected.
