Don’t protect pedophiles

Why do Senate Democrats in the Washington Legislature want to sacrifice our children?

For several years legislation has been introduced to eliminate the statutes of limitations for sex crimes committed against kids. These crimes destroy the normalcy of the child because they have a lack of trust. There was some hope a bill would pass this session. The bill was approved in the House by a wide margin and sent to the Senate where Democrats refused to allow a vote.

While in our state many attempts have been made to change these archaic laws protecting child molesters, at the same time several states have changed their laws and Congress has changed the federal law to protect children. In the meantime, child molesters in the state of Washington can continue to hope their prey will wait too many years to complain and the offenders avoid responsibility for their evil conduct.

A #metoo movement has started for the adult victims of inappropriate sexual behavior. Perhaps now is the time for a #themtoo movement to protect children from sexual predation by eliminating these archaic statutes of limitations. Maybe then there could be fewer in the #metoo movement in the future. Contact Senate Democrats!
