Senate convenes, then 10 minutes later, adjourns ‘til tomorrow…

Today’s Senate session lasted all of 10 minutes, and that was it. The list of bills that Gov. Butch Otter has signed most recently was read across the desk, along with one he allowed to become law without his signature. A substitute lawmaker, Joni Burtenshaw, was welcomed in the place of Sen. Jeff Siddoway. A couple of interim committee meetings were announced for tomorrow. And then the Senate adjourned until 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Burtenshaw, who is married to Rep. Van Burtenshaw, R-Terreton, said afterward, “I’m here ‘til the end, because Sen. Siddoway has gone back to work.” She called it “an honor” to sit in for him in the Senate.
