Blown off again by CMR

I just returned from my third year of volunteering at the annual Planned Parenthood Lobby Day in Washington, D.C. And, for the third year in a row, I was unable to meet with my congressional representative, Cathy McMorris Rodgers.

On the morning of Lobby Day, despite repeated attempts to schedule an appointment beforehand, her office finally confirmed a time for later that afternoon. The eight of us constituents were literally given the runaround, only to be granted a brief meeting with a temporary aide in the middle of a crowded and noisy hallway. No other congressperson or senator, Republican or Democrat, has ever treated us with such disrespect.

I’m looking forward to next year when I will be treated with respect and basic courtesy by Congresswoman Lisa Brown.
