Flipping party allegiance

I am a lifelong Republican but this year I am planning to flip my party allegiance and cast my ballot for Lisa Brown as our next representative to Congress. I have watched what is happening in DC over the past two years with disgust and dismay - not only with the words and actions of the president, but with the complicity of the Republican Congress. This includes our current representative - Cathy McMorris Rodgers.

This one-party rule coupled with an erratic and divisive president is ripping this country apart. The “them vs us” mentality is appalling to watch and it doesn’t feel like the America I love or like the Republic Party I joined over 50 years ago.

Luckily for our district, we have an excellent alternative in Lisa Brown. I believe she will be a strong and independent voice for us in Congress. She has a proven track record of leadership and of bringing diverse groups together for the common good. And do we ever need those skills now. Plus, she is on the right side of the health care issue and has promised to protect those with preexisting conditions when Congress next takes up this issue.

I hope that you will join me in voting for Lisa Brown and help bring balance and sanity back to our government.
