Cathy is accessible

Several times I’ve heard suggestions that Cathy McMorris Rodgers is inaccessible or absent from our community.

I’ve personally seen Cathy many times in Spokane – at a local auto mechanic shop, in local stores. I’ve seen her more than many of my friends!

Cathy is our representative in Congress. Obviously, Congress is in Washington, D.C. Of course she has to be away from home. It is wrong and divisive to suggest that she must be out of touch. Surely we can all agree on that!

In the past, I flew frequently for work, and many times I’ve found myself on the same eastbound flight leaving Spokane as Cathy. I’ve always been impressed to see how friendly she is towards other passengers. (And, she’s always in coach class!) Cathy represents a huge district. She has offices in Spokane, Walla Walla and Colville. She represents ten counties with nearly 655,000 people. If only 1 percent of the district population contacted her in a year, that’s more than 6,000 calls.

When I had reason to contact local legislators, only Cathy McMorris Rodgers responded - with a letter and a phone call.

Cathy represents us well.
