What will your vote cost?

I’m sick of it all.

The lack of truth, or distortions of truth, by candidates of our two main political parties has become dangerous and monotonous. The fact is that most candidates can do very little of what they promise, by themselves. They need cooperation from others to make any changes possible. That’s often not likely.

Initiatives that reach the ballot typically have flaws from any perspective — left, right or center. Our political system is seriously wounded by interests that serve themselves above all others.

That said, there are some simple facts that do hold true: if you vote Democratic your taxes will go up; guaranteed. If you vote Republican your taxes may go up, but it’s not guaranteed. Liberals want bigger government and socialism; that always means higher taxes and less freedoms. Conservatives generally want less government, lower taxes and more freedoms, but they’re slow to address social needs.

Frankly, I pay enough taxes. I love the country I was born in, and fear the government I now have. They use and abuse taxpayers. Our state of Washington is among the worst for high taxes and taxpayer abuse.

Be careful who you vote for. It can be expensive.
