Why so many dogs in the store?
Really, I love dogs too but don’t need them in the food store. The Americans with Disabilities Act allows service dogs, but they must be on the ground on a leash. The act does not allow comfort dogs or pets to be in the same category. Dogs are never to be in the shopping cart, even in a “pet basket,” and not carried.
Arizona now has a state law against pets in stores. You can ask if the dog is a service dog and what it is trained for but not the nature of the disability. Walmart in the Spokane Valley is the worst. The store workers have the ability to police this situation but must have management to back them up. Obviously the management there wants to store to be a Petco.
