CMR, Hutchison work for us all

The tax relief reconciliation act of 2001 gave back at least $600 of taxes to “we” the people. Hillary Clinton said the recipients didn’t know how to spend it. It seems the Democratic Party believes they must manage everyone’s finances as the general population is just too stupid to cope. The Senate voted 58 yes, 33 no; Cantwell and Clinton voted no.

As a student, that money allowed me to pay for a semester without using savings. Susan Hutchison understands how quickly lives can be affected. She worked against a state income tax. The carbon tax on mobility and the head tax are job-destroying. Susan continued to fight against them both.

Voting for the largest tax increase in Washington’s history was Lisa Brown’s way to balance the budget. How about doing what families do? When money is tight, the spending is adjusted. And then there is the $258 million property tax cut. Initiative 960 required a two-thirds majority on bills which raise taxes. Brown challenged that measure, the state Supreme Court rejected unanimously, and in 2010 she voted to suspend the threshold to raise taxes.

Cathy McMorris Rodgers and Susan Hutchison will help the rising tide lifting all boats.
