Chase has served us well
I am writing to endorse Rob Chase as county commissioner. I am a left-leaning liberal and he is a right-leaning libertarian, but we have worked together on many issues and I am impressed with his integrity, leadership and gift for working across party lines.
While county treasurer, Rob spearheaded legislation to allow partial payments on property taxes. He has worked to help bring forth legislation that would allow Washington to have a State Infrastructure Bank. He made a campaign promise to only serve two terms and he is keeping that promise.
He is Washington state’s only elected official to take action against Canada’s Hydro One takeover of Avista. He views it his fiduciary duty to protect the citizens of our county against the potential for significantly increased electricity rates. Through his actions, our state now has a new comment period that could give us the needed time to organize and block the planned sale.
While I’m sure we disagree on partisan issues such as gun control, abortion and immigration, we agree on so many other important and pressing issues. We need politicians of his caliber serving us in office.
