Thanks, Zags
My wife and I would like to express our gratitude to the Gonzaga Bulldogs men’s basketball team and the magnificent coach who guides them. We are in our 80s, mostly home-bound, and spend a lot of time waiting for fall when we can revel in our Zags. And we were so proud of them this year since they finished the season in the top eight of over 350 NCAA Division 1 teams in America. That’s not bad!
To the team we want to say: Don’t feel bad about the Elite Eight loss and don’t go forward remembering your rare missed shots, missed extra points or making a bad pass. These things are understandably normal in an emotionally charged effort. Instead, remember your great season and coach Few and the staff who inspired you to greatness. Remember the special filial love you all felt towards one another. These are special - the memories that really matter and last a lifetime. Go forward remembering these things and apply them as you live your life.
Thanks, Zags for the enhancement of our lives. My wife and I are grateful for your efforts and examples and happier because of your gifts.
