Friday’s opening redux: It’s lion time again

And there are a couple of amendments to Friday’s movie schedule. One involves another opening, the other a second run:

“Mia and the White Lion” : A young girl moves with her family to Africa (the film was shot in South Africa) where she adopts a lion cub. Will it end up being the king?

And the second run? The Magic Lantern is picking up a run of the film “Hotel Mumbai,” which stars Dev Patel and tells the story of the 2008 terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India.

More important, the Lantern will run Jia Zhang-ke’s film “Ash is Purest White” only through the coming weekend. So if you want to see this Chinese import, at least on a moderately big screen, this is your last chance. It’s definitely worth it.
