Advice for trafficking victims
In the women’s restroom at the Spokane International Airport recently, I was delighted to see signs on the individual stall doors encouraging women who are being abused or “trafficked” to call 911.
A wonderful, thoughtful encouragement for any woman who is experiencing abuse or being trafficked. However, there’s a 99% chance that any woman who is being abused or trafficked does not have a phone.
A better approach to this problem might be to encourage the female victim to tell another woman in the restroom and ask them to call 911.
