Reality of protest leaders

The “abortion protest” article on the front page of the April 25 paper is an insidiously one-sided, radical-Christian propaganda piece. It gives a platform for convicted murderer Jake Eakin and the far-right, hyperviolent Facebook poster, Joshua Feuerstein. These are men who threaten anyone with opposing world views, who ask their followers to comment acts of violence.

These are not men that should have their radicalized views on display (unchallenged, with zero counter points) on the front page of a local paper.

The article gives no mention of all the great work Planned Parenthood does in our community. Providing birth control, breast and cervical cancer screenings and many other reproductive health services at low or no cost. The shame and harassment these people inflict on patrons of PP (not even getting abortion services) is ugly. Those abortion services are about 3% of services PP provides federally. Title X prevents federal funding to go directly to abortion.

“Life Begins at Conception” is a religious opinion — not a fact. We are a free nation with secular laws — not a theocracy. Religious opinions are not.
