Socialism, for the rich

It’s funny (but not ha-ha funny) how I often hear the word socialism spat out like a dirty epithet when discussing the ideas of progressive Democrats like Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, among others. There is an easily seen hypocrisy on the part of the detractors of these representatives who actually represent their constituents, unlike the bought and owned by private interest representatives, such as Pelosi, Schumer, O’Connell and Graham to name a few.

The establishment politicians never seem to mention that we’ve had almost 40 years of Reagan-inspired socialism for the rich, the “trickle-down” lie that was and still is just a series of giveaways without any strings to those who never needed that help nor deserved more than others by any significant human measure. The latest, a $2 trillion free gift to the wealthy wherein a billionaire gets to write off taxes on the purchase of a new personal jet while a school teacher cannot deduct the cost of buying learning supplies, shows who the establishment prefers to receive socialism these days.

Don’t even get me started on taxpayer-subsidized sports stadiums for billionaires that could afford their own. What hypocrites.
