Stuckart picking the wrong fight
Ben, Ben, Ben! You try and support Stuckart … He has the right ideas about how to work on Spokane’s issues. Woodward doesn’t. Then, he picks a fight with the Salvation Army.
Haven’t we already almost screwed up a major city project because some “sources” don’t like the conservative religious views of UGM? So now they don’t like the religious views of the Salvation Army? And Stuckart has to bring this up because he represents “all” his constituents? How about “all” being the dozens of churches and thousands of Spokane citizens who support the Salvation Army and its work?
What does the city care about their religious views? They can believe what they like. If Stuckart doesn’t like their beliefs on sexuality, get over it. Pay attention to the myriad social services they provide for our city. That’s your job.
You are behind in the race, Ben! Alienating a huge group of Spokane voters is about as lousy an election tactic as I’ve seen. And you give your opposition further support that you are just a radical West Side leftist out to make Spokane into Seattle.
Time will tell if you have, proverbially, shot yourself in the foot, or the head.
