We have failed God

The upcoming observance of Patriot Day (Sept. 11) is a good time to remind Christians and Jews to spend more time praying and fasting for our nation. Even the most naive observer can see that America is beginning to crumble around the edges. Adverse influences have caused cracks to appear in our foundation as well.

On Aug. 17, Allen Marsh limned an accurate portrayal of our nation (“Christianity offers principles”). However, he neglected to mention that some of the worst disasters in American history occurred days after one of our presidents made a treaty involving taking land from Israel and giving it to one of her enemies. One of these treaties was signed on Sept. 8, 2001.

You may have noticed that the massacres occurred shortly after the end of the Gulf wars. Some of the shooters had been directly influenced by terrorist ideology. Others were mesmerized by spirits that had hitched rides on returning soldiers.

The fact that II Chronicles 7:14 promises national security, to obedient Christians, should tell us something. We have failed God.
