This is ‘winning’?

Donald Trump promised that we’d win so much with him as president that we’d get tired of “winning.” I believe in win/win situations – where everybody benefits – but with Trump it doesn’t work that way. He creates winners and losers, dividing people every time he tweets or speaks. He is changing the “‘United’ States of America” into the “‘Divided’ States of America.”

Trump and Putin share the same game plan described in the Atlantic: “… it is classically Putin, and classically Russian: using daring aggression to mask weakness, to avenge deep resentments, and, at all costs, to survive.”

So I ask – Are you pleased with all this “winning”?

Not if you value truth. Not if you value liberty and justice for all. Not if you’re concerned about the national debt. Not if you worry about the future of our democracy. Not if you value freedom of the press. Not if you believe John McCain served our county honorably. Not if you value human rights. Not if you are/were an ally of the United States.

Not if you’re concerned about climate change. Not if you’re a bluefin tuna whose population is just 5% of what it was in 1950, or one of a million different plant and animal species that are in danger of extinction. Not if you’re one of 3,400 additional U.S. citizens that will die each year as a result of this administration’s easing of emission standards for coal-fired power plants.

Please remember this when you vote.
