Keep going along

Before Trump was elected, his attitude and language regarding women was exposed, when his own filthy words were broadcast. It was shocking. But he denied it. So, you went along.

His family continued their business lives, making money with their new influence. The president continued to cash in from his hotels, obviously illegal, but you went along.

He spewed lies from day. But you went along.

He abandoned the Kurds, our long-term ally, leaving our airbase in Syria to be taken over by the Russians. But you went along.

Now, he is being impeached by the House. The evidence is overwhelming that Trump bribed Ukraine to get dirt on his rival. This is wrong on so many levels. But you continue to go along.

At this point, Trump can obviously do anything, and the Republicans in Congress will just go along with it, if he keeps fundraising for them. Lie, promote Russian conspiracy theories. Whatever.

I am truly afraid. If the president is a criminal and the attorney general and other high officials are helping him to get away with it, what will happen next? As other great civilizations have collapsed, so shall we. Just keep going along.
