Budget cuts? Scrap roundabouts

Our governor appears to say that because Eastern Washington voted for the car tabs bill, we need to take the biggest hits in the resulting budget cuts. I have a simple suggestion that will save at least 100 million dollars: Get rid of the lousy roundabouts!

No more — especially on four-lane roads. The roundabouts north of Mead on Bruce Road cost, as I remember, $700,000 each. Scrapping only 150 roundabouts in the next few years will save $100 million. And that will probably prevent a bunch of accidents too.
