The Komodo dragon bite

The Komodo dragon is a real, actual living monster on Earth. It can grow up to 10 feet long, and weigh over 300 pounds. It can run up to 11 mph. It eats meat. It picks on large animals.

While its bite is not the strongest, it only needs to draw blood. Its venom will cause the victim to slowly bleed to death, unless it dies first from severe infection from the saliva. The victim is followed around by the dragon for several days until it falls over. Then the victim is violently ripped apart and eaten.

I find this similar to gaslighting. Mr. Trump will bite his prey, hoping to take him out. It works very well for Trump, and often. “People are saying …”, or “I am hearing…”

The current situation with Joe Biden is a good example. Trump has tried to administer a lethal bite with his claims “Biden is corrupt.” Will Biden go down? Is he innocent? Does it matter?

With gaslighting, it is hard to defend yourself. Like with the question, “Do you beat your wife often?”, you already look dirty before you can even start to defend yourself.

We all need to recognize gaslighting right away when we hear it. Otherwise, we can’t make good decisions on what to believe. Truth or lie? Nobody should lie to us, but we should also be smart enough to recognize a lie when we hear it. ‘Nuff said.
