Negative effects of technology

What are we using technology for? Our world has been consumed by technology. These days you don’t even have to leave your house to go buy clothes, get food, go to the bank, or even wash your dog!

Technology can be a huge source for sharing ideas, spreading awareness, and many more positive things. But, like most things there is a downside. Being a freshman, it’s the first year of school that we are allowed to use and have our phones out. Whenever we have free time almost everyone is on their phones. Why? What are we spending all our time doing? Sometimes technology can be so toxic its necessary for us to take a break and put our phones down.

In a study done by the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, it showed, “The researchers analyzed and compiled the data, and the results revealed that intensive use of cell phones and computers can be linked to an increase in stress, sleep disorders and depressive symptoms in young adults.”

I think it’s time to put the phone down for a little while. Be a little more productive, a little more social, and live a little more.
