The real truth

In response to “The truth” (Maureen Paterson, Dec. 13):

1. Trump was in Afghanistan because he wanted out of town not to serve our soldiers. He is cutting their benefits.

2. Unemployment may be down but will be back up after Christmas.

3. These new jobs will be no jobs come January.

4. It is not a tribute to Trump because hourly earnings are up. It’s Bernie Sanders who began the push for $15 per hour minimum, which some states have raised. However, federal minimum wage is still $7.25.

5. The reason the average workweek is 34.4 hrs/week is because employers don’t offer health insurance until an employee has several 40-hour weeks simultaneously.

6. Don’t talk China waiving tariffs. China hates President Trump and the USA and is not making any favorable deals with us.

7. The 65% fewer costly-regulations than earlier presidents are due to dropping regulations so the oil companies, Wall Street, pharmaceutical, NRA, and Department of Ecology etc. are free to do as they please.

8. $33 billion in net regulation savings means we drink toxic water, eat poisonous foods and breathe polluted air and more. At least as long as we can last.

I do not agree that President Trump has improved our country or future. America is not surging forward and impeachment is not happening fast enough. We are doomed if Trump and others like him lead us. We might get a couple more generations but those after will live shorter and more difficult lives.
